What Looks Like Crazy...

...probably is!

Friends of mine will read this and roll their eyes. We've had this discussion. The problem is not, however, disappearing, and I am about to go bizonkers. If I see an inappropriately used apostrophe one! more! time!

This morning, a sign for a DC florist announced that said florist was the Headquarter's for Valentine's Gift's, Rose's and more. I nearly had an accident. Who commissioned this sign? Who created it? Who paid for it, and then decided to post it on New York Avenue for all the world to see?

The florist is hardly the only guilty party. At a previous job, a coworker was promoted. Let's refer to him as Miles. We received an email from his boss, asking us to please join that department in celebrating Mile's achievement.

I am not making this up.

Another woman continually sends out emails adding apostrophes with abandon. She particularly loves to write our's. It makes me want to drive pencils into my retinas.

I am not grammatically perfect myself, but work with me. Wouldn't it be better to err on the side of caution and leave apostrophes OUT? Or should that be apostrophe's?

Lord help u's.

BINGO! I could not agree with you more.
