What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...

...but what happens before Vegas apparently comes back with you, doubled in strength.

Last week, I had a bad summer cold. Wednesday, I was out for the count in bed. Thursday, I was marginally better, but apparently still sick enough to believe that it would be a good idea to keep my plans and fly to Vegas on Friday.

I saw beautiful friends in Vegas and ate from the most delicious buffet I've ever visited, The Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

We interrupt this blog post to inform you that every other buffet in the world is substandard, and if you do not immediately begin planning a trip to this restaurant, you will die having lived an unfulfilled life. Not to be harsh.

I've officially lost my ability to deal with "continental breakfasts" on business trips. But anyway.

None of these things helped my cold. Today I dragged my butt to the doctor, carefully editing my condition. Sore throat, yes. Lost voice, yes. Ear pain, absolutely. Weekend trip to Vegas? I can neither confirm nor deny.

I have laryngitis, an ear infection, and a bunch of other nasties. In other words, a very bad summer cold. From here on, I plan to treat it a little more conventionally.

Although I do wonder if I would have been healed in Monte Carlo....
