Disorganization

Something tells me it's time to clean the office.

I recently heard that the average American household has 300,000 items. That number made me a little queasy, especially because it appears that 295,000 of my household's items are on that bookcase.

It's ironic, too, because just outside the office? Is a space that looks like this:

It's like a game of opposites. In one room, we have all the ingredients for the best junk store in the east. In another, there is no proof that actual life exists in the house.

In my defense, that corner of the room looks greige and boring, but that's just the angle. There are other colors, textures, stuff just out of frame.

Unfortunately, I have no defense for our home office. I will be working this summer to see if I can pare it down by a couple hundred thousand items so we don't end up with our own reality show episode.

I will report back, assuming I can locate the laptop later.

Robert won't even walk into our office. On my summer to-do list, too.

Let's encourage each other! As you can see, mine is a problem!
